Astrodog
My friends' dog, Laika. Touched up one of the preliminary sketches so I could post it. This is an inch or two by an inch or two. Final piece is on an 11x14 bristol.

Back in the Saddle
First time putting pencil to paper yesterday since I got promoted back at the beginning of the September. Things have been crazy busy but seems to be leveling off now. #2 pencil, mirror, 30 minutes.
Also did some subway sketching on the way to see Lincoln and back.

Goalie Mask - Finished Product
Don McClelland at www.macmasks.com finished painting/airbrushing my goalie mask design onto my brother's mask and he did one heck of a sweet job. I am quite impressed. It's so rare that the final product in a creative process looks just like you saw it in your head. Check it out:
He was nice enough to send along some process shots as well:
And the back piece:
*EDIT* - Don just sent me photos of the mask with clear coat applied and the straps and grill put on:

Goalie Mask - Final
So I went back to the drawing board after a friend gave me a good critique on the previous design. We agreed it still wasn't looking "Asian" enough.
Here is the final:
Here is the final:
This is to give a sense what it would look like from the front. Also the horns wrapping around back onto the little piece the straps connect to (that's the Bluenose):
And here are the lines for the final:
Also, I've got my hands on an old airbrush and I'm going to see if it works and test out how feasible it would be to try to paint masks myself. We shall see...
